Happy friday people, its been a crazy couple days so i havent put up recently. I have been working on my essay recently so not alot to put up, the essay has jumped up my list because the deadline is steadily coming up. Personally if we are talking about this i really dont think we should have got this deadline like this, one month to write a 2,000 word essay with some actual meat behind it, i can do it fine but ive done essay before alot but other people who havent are struggling. But as i will be told it isnt my opinion that counts so onto other things.

I did alot of sampling on wednesday with the steel so i thought i would put it up.

 During with my tutorail with Adrian i spoke about a good way to make a fern leaf because i had been doing the type on the bottom, il explain that after. Adrian stood up walked over got a bar, got it hot and with a few tools under the power hammer he made this. On wednesday i am seriously trying to make myself some of this.

 This the design i was trying to make, i was using the blacksmiths helper to get the sets in then working them out with ball pein to get a bit texture and life to them. I like it but it isnt my idea for the ferns, i want something that will look alot more life like but abstract at the same time.

 This sample was me trying to mess around with texture, me and Del had a talk about using texture and surface quality to show living and something growing around. I really like this look in the steel and i want to replicate this on an actual piece to see what it looks like, this small sample doesnt really give me much of a view on what i could do with it.

This was a little idea i was working on, when me and del were talking in the tutorail she mentioned about doing a piece that would be just the outline of the leaf, i wanted to make up a few samples to see what it would look like. I got into this sample when i decided i really dont like this piece, i dont like how it looks or anything.

In other news i got my techy work done today, it was to make a pair of bolt tongs. you will not be seeing them on here because they are terrible, i burnt one that was perfect for the other so i had to rush through and make a replacement which looks totally different so yeah. Going to make another pair in my spare time, not happy about burning it.
