7th of May

Well got on with the work today, let it slack a little bit over the weekend because well had a few family things going on. Did manage to get to a couple of metal chisels at a car boot which are nice.

Well here is the sketchbook work of the day.

First sketch of the day, was of the sample i did thursday that still impresses me to this day. I think i will be running with this idea because next week i want to dive straight into making, so it is experimenting with this design time.

Why i like this idea so much is because it brings in my idea of tension in so many ways, i want to put something through it dragging it but i like the idea of the candle sitting on it being part of the tension, thats why i have tried to stick to this idea of the plate where the candle sits being flat likes its being squashed down.

This idea is something that came to me while i was out walking round the park, saw a really inspiring wrap of vines so i thought i would try and get it into this tension idea. Watch this idea, going to be developing this up i think.

This idea was just something i saw after looking online at other wall hanging candle holders, not really a fan of detaching the candle from the actual shape and putting it on one of the stakes im calling them. This idea has no legs for me, but who knows maybe when mel takes a gander might go further.

This was some ideas that came after having a very brief chat with Kate, she said maybe changing from candle holder to oil lamp or maybe a torch holder. Valid point and some intresting ideas but i think for this project im getting too many ideas coming out towards the candle holder idea.

Getting in the forge tommorow so will be doing another sample in the forge, hopefully a bit quicker than the last one.
