15th of December

Well got some good new this morning when i woke up, i have passed my cultural studies, barely passed it but i did pass so i really couldnt care less i put as little time into it as i could so that i would pass it. 

Mostly been forging all day so not much work done, did just put up a 3DSP post mind so thats something. Still need to get my feedback from Del, she is supposed be calling but that woman is damn busy so il wait sure she hasnt forgot. 

I will try and update this as much as i can but i cant see this hoilday being full of uni work more simple forging.

11th of December

Evening Hereford

Well intresting day, not really much done as far as work. I was in the HE this morning for the 3DSP assessment, just dropped off my stuff, i spoke to Ambrose about the tong topic and he saw when Adrian was coming from and i could see myself that alot of people choose it as a cop out just to make some tongs. But i want to look deep into it, right into the history and why we make them the way we do. But that isnt much for this blog going to go write a post about that on the 3DSP blog.

On a personal note i am getting more and more nervous about tommorow, i get my cultural studies mark back which i am getting really bad about because i think i have failed, im over thinking it so just need to see what i get in the morning. Something else that got me is making my stem tommorow, i am just drawing and rounding up a big section something ive done loads of times before but i am getting nervous and almost dreading it and i dont know why it is beyond me. I think i might need to sit down and talk to someone about this, maybe talk to Adrian in the morning about it. I will get it done piece of piss just want to tell someone this, my confidence issues when it comes to my smithing i guess. Jesus look at me telling a blog my feelings, its like a bad romantic comedy.
 

10th of December

Morning Hereford, my last monday morning in hereford of the year, feels weird when i say it like that. Got a fair bit of work done over the weekend, finished off my discourse essay so dont have to worry about that over christmas and i got a couple of posts up on my 3DSP blog, i dont really know if i am doing it right or doing it wrong. Got a assessment tommorow so i can find out whether i am doing it right or wrong then.

One thing on my mind is the results for the cultural essay are out on wednesday, i think ive passed but cant really know for certain. I didnt get on with the essay and i think it showed with the content i put forward.

8th of December

Early post this morning i wanted to talk about the few things i did yesterday.

Finally started making up my stem.

Real big piece of steel i started with, it was a section of 30mm round. Started power hammering it gradulely but it was a busy day for the massey so i only got a little bit of it done.

This is the piece as it so far, i will be finishing it all Wednesday and started to dimpling the stem then drilling all friday. 

6th of December

Well today was a better day guys got quite alot done as far as work goes, i did another 3 pages on my discourse essay making that up to 7. Could probably finish now but i want to inleast get 10 pages maybe more, nothing wrong with extra work on top. I also started doing a couple new things on my 3DSP blog, really need someone to look over it so i can tell if im doing it right or not.

One thing i can do on this blog is talk about a sample i did on wednesday just didnt feel like talking about yesterday.

This as a sample i did of the connections i want to go on the stem, i am gonna start forging the stem tommorow. I have changed my forging stock down to a chunk of 35mm round, i was oringally gonna start with some 50mm round but when i got my hands on it was too big, too heavy for little 10mm coming off it.

5th of December

Short post today, work ethic isnt with me, got a few things going on you know in personal jack time so not really got round to much work today. Got a pretty free day tomorrow, so want to get the large drawing done and a big 3DSP post up.

4th of December

Well gang its been a slow day, had a quick chat about the next semester or whatever the correct word is and the projects we will be doing. Had quite a nice 3DSP chat with Ambrose and ive finally started the actual blog. Found here http://panda3dsp.blogspot.co.uk/

Other than that not really much done, i am at the stage where im not making so i cant draw up changes or talk about making. But at the same time my design is done so im not doing sketchbook work on that, so as far as DD goes im at a bit of stale mate till i get making. Hopefully get making tomorrow need to get that stem done.

2nd of December

Its been a slow weekend gang, ive been busy with the Discourse essay. Its not the first thing on the list but i wanted to get it knocked out before christmas so i have the hoilday to focus purely on 3DSP.

I have been working on my large drawing though, its been alot of work constantly re drawing it up then trying to get the right form. I am starting to finish it at the moment but it is taking its sweet time.

 This is about as far as i am with it.

This is one piece i am a little upset about, in pencil i wasnt really seeing it as one solid piece then when i started doing it with the sharpie i saw that this one really wasnt in place so i re drew it in pencil and prefered that. Think i will tip ex the bad one out then put the new one over the top.

Hoping to have it done by inleast wednesday so i can start on the stem Wednesday.
